At Armco we have over 15 years experience in giving the best practical advice and training to meet your individual needs. We are holding an Asbestos Awareness Training Course Friday 30th January at our dedicated training facility in Bury, Manchester.
Asbestos Awareness training is for workers that spend time in buildings that contain asbestos and for individuals whose responsibilities include the management of asbestos in their buildings
Anyone that is involved in building refurbishment where their work may disturb the fabric of the building will be required by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to complete an Asbestos Awareness course. No employee should undertake any work which could disturb the fabric of a building without confirmation that there are no Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) present from the employer; this will be found out through an asbestos survey.
Asbestos fibres, if inhaled can be extremely harmful causing lung cancers and Mesothelioma. Workers and tradespeople have to be able to recognise Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) in their work so as not to put themselves at risk. Asbestos Awareness training is required to protect tradespeople from exposure to asbestos by training them to avoid work that could disrupt asbestos.
Asbestos awareness training is beneficial to many trades such as electricians, plumbers and joiners. It is designed give them information and training on asbestos including the following topics;

This particular type of training does not prepare tradesmen to work with asbestos, for this further training will to be undertaken.
